I am so excited to show my jewelry collection with the Unique LA Spring show, May 7 and 8. I have been working hard on some fabulous new pieces and re-purposing some great Thrift Store finds into eco-chic display fixtures for my booth. A few weeks ago I decided I was going with a black/white/cream/worn gold color story, with a pop of hot pink by bringing in some seasonal flowers. Sometimes I think I am in the wrong business as I love to find home decorative pieces and re-purpose or redo them! Check out my before and after photos:
From the top: Dreadful 1980’s artwork, marked down twice, loved the frame; cost $ 9.99! Disposed of most of the artwork and spray painted it black. A gutter that anchored the Plexiglas was perfect to hold some balsa wood rods from Micheal’s at $.59 each. Spray painted those too and secured them in the groove where the Plexiglas was. Wrapped the original cardboard in cream silk dupioni and repositioned it in the back. (This photo is a mock up, I still need to iron the fabric and then attach it) I also added two “L” brackets on the back so that the frame would be secure sitting upright on my table during the show.
Spotted the tri-level, buffet/desert server while in the checkout line at the Thrift Store in Goleta, CA. Knew immediately that it was perfect to display cuff bracelets. Snapped it up for $ 6.99. It did not come with shelves so I do have to buy those, but the look and feel is perfect for my booth and brand.
The vintage flatware box was purchased at the flea market in San Francisco a couple of years ago; I think I paid $ 3.00 for it. I was able up-cycle this by removing the feet and decorative piece on the cover so that I could paint it cream. I then lined the inside with some fabric and ribbon. Spray painted the feet and front decorative piece black. I love how the cuffs look inside!
Bought the wrought iron candle sticks at a Thrift Store in Santa Monica for $3.99 for the pair. They will work great as vertical display for cuffs. And the worn gold works with my color scheme.
The gold wire tray was $1.99 at the same store in Santa Monica. It is fine just the way it is and will hold the wedding cuffs really nicely.
